Slime Smart Tube 29" X 1.85-2.20 Self Healing Bike Inner Tubes - Presta Valve (Pair)

I cycle lots - mostly on paths, trails and rougher surfaces (as well as some roads) - I consider that punctures are inevitable; some time ago, I read an article about Slime Smart Tubes and was intrigued. This purchase is in addition to 2 Slime Smart Tubes that I already have installed. This purchase was made because of my exceptional experience with the others: no punctures for 3 years over (many, many) hundreds of miles unforgiving terrain! Slime Smart Tubes tubes function best as protection against annoying pin-prick punctures (small thorns etc.) they do not guard against large gashes or pinch-flats, but they are not meant to. The 'slime' is a green liquid that coats the inner of the tube as you ride; on exposure to the air it hardens to a plug that seals the gap. Note that because the Slime Smart Tubes are under pressure, when topping-up air (which they require rarely) some slime will spray from the valve - this can be reduced by rotating the wheel so that the valve is at the top and leaving it for 10 minutes to allow the slime to settle at the bottom of the tube. This method is also useful if you want to deflate the tube to replace a worn tyre. As well as the Slime Smart Tubes, my lack of punctures may also be in part because I inflate my MTB tyres to around 45psi (I'm not the lightest person) and this gives a firm responsive ride whilst preventing the tyres and tubes being nipped by the wheel rims on kerbs etc. and causing pinch-flats (Slime Tubes are unlikely to be able to fix this). I also use 'good' tyres, (Scwhalbe Marathon MTB) which are tough; I think this helps. These Slime Smart Tubes are heavier than non-slime tubes but not by much. They are also 'lifed' for 2 years - that said, my original tubes are still going strong after more than 3 - if they puncture now, then I consider that acceptable. Slime tubes also have a lime-green dust cap for the valve which means they match my bikes! Very highly recommended at this price for 2 tubes.

Ordered these to replace a pair that are 5 years old I will always swear by these given i have covered a total distance of 6700 miles with them equipped on my MTX 8.6 which has the daily task of carrying shopping and towing a trailer for what they cost compared to the protection they offer is unrivalled especially paired with continental ebike tyres with puncture protection belt the time saved from patch repairs or downtime from punctures cannot be beaten Big kudos to the seller they arrived 3 days before estimated arrival date Whether you are a weekend rider or daily commuter make sure you have these tubes equipped to avoid downtime from flat tyres For every bike i buy these are bought alongside top stuff

I've used these for 2 years and only had one puncture and that was when I was changing the tire. I cycled through a load of thorns and got a huge one stuck in my tire, I pulled it out and immediately the slime got to work. I not only made it home but 2 weeks later the tire is still inflated.

I am a long term slime user and can assure you it works. I have changed a tyre only to find I have had multiple punctures (mainly from thorns) that have been healed with slime. After 3 years it seems to lose its effectiveness so I have just bought two new Slime filled tubes. (A lot of tubes seem to have non removable valves otherwise I would have lost bought it by the bottle)

The inners tubes have saved several stops to repair flat tyres while out biking in the countryside. Once hedge cutting season starts so do the punctures. These inner tubes work well and seem to be protecting me from thorns from hedge row cuttings.

I bought these as a safeguard against punctures even though I'd never had one. It's better to have it and not need rather than need it and not have it. Anyway, they are crap!! I got a small puncture on the canal and the tyre went down. I re inflated it 6 times using all my co2 cartridges. I ended up calling the wife to rescue me. When I got home I inspected the puncture and let me tell you, the hole was tiny! More gimmicks and more wanted money when I could have just taken a good old puncture repair kit. Don't waste your money guys 💰🤦🏽
